Israel Home Battery Storage Rules (2026)
Israel's complementary storage tariff pays up to 134.24 agorot/kWh in summer for energy produced during peak hours from PV+storage systems (Decision 65304). Eligibility requires 800 kWh per kW of approved capacity per year.
Complementary Storage Tariff
The complementary tariff (Decision 65304, updated January 2024, Decision 68103) compensates PV+storage systems for energy exported to the grid during peak hours. Values from Tariff Book 07/2026, Table 6.7-5:
| Season | Rate (agorot/kWh) | Peak hours |
|---|---|---|
| Summer (Jun-Sep) | 134.24 | Sun-Thu 17:00-23:00 |
| Winter (Dec-Feb) | 93.2 | All days 17:00-22:00 |
| Transition | Floor: 37.21 | Sun-Thu 17:00-22:00 |
Eligibility
- Energy exported to the grid during peak hours (eligibility requires more than 800 kWh per kW per year; self-consumed energy does not count). The complementary tariff is paid as a top-up above the facility's base feed-in rate.
- PV system required (storage-only installations are not eligible)
- Up to 300 kW: a 5% reduction from the hourly peak value (134.24 agorot in summer); above 300 kW: a 15% reduction (120.11 agorot).
Peak Windows (Decision 63609)
- Summer (Jun-Sep): Sun-Thu 17:00-23:00
- Winter (Dec-Feb): All days including Friday and Saturday, 17:00-22:00
- Transition: Sun-Thu 17:00-22:00
